Therapy is useful when we feel stuck, when we feel we have exhausted all of our resources and no longer know how best to cope with a concern. At those times in our lives, therapy can help us revive our connection to hope while widening the field of possibilities.
We all go through difficult times in our life, it is a part of our human condition. We try to resolve our problems or concerns on our own and often, we find our way through them. There may be other times, when we feel overwhelmed or lost by the sheer magnitude of the problem or the feelings connected to it. At times like this, we may also be hesitant to confide in our friends or family. If this has been the case for you, then you may have been suffering alone and in silence. As a therapist, who has also done her own work in therapy, I know first hand the value of feeling supported and heard as I worked through my own concerns. I integrate different modalities for mind, body, and spirit to help you attain the personal growth you are striving towards. Some of these mind-body-spirit modalities include: expression through art; psychodrama; Emotional Freedom Technique; Eye Movement Integration (an NLP process that lessens the intensity of traumatic memories similar to EMDR); and Energy psychology.
I have experience with and comfort in working with women from diverse backgrounds, cultures as well as women from the LGBT communities. I provide services in both English and Portuguese.
