About Me

I am a Clinical Social Worker/Psychotherapist who specializes in helping individuals, couples and families.  I currently maintain a part-time private practice with offices in Mississauga and Toronto, Ontario. I also work as a full-time counsellor at George Brown College, serving both students and faculty.

With over 26 years of experience, I serve clients who experience a broad spectrum of issues and concerns. In the past, I have worked in child welfare, children's mental health, in the medical system (In/fertility counselling & education), and in family services agencies.  My areas of expertise, developed through personal interest, years of experience, education, training and supervision, include:

  • working with individuals who struggle with feeling overwhelmed, stressed, anxious and/or are experiencing depression;
  • working with those who have survived trauma;
  • working with couples on rebuilding their relationship;
  • helping individuals and couples who are dealing with infertility;
  • and working with families and their children, addressing a number of issues from childhood depression, trauma, and anxiety to AD(H)D.

In addition, I have presented to professional and general audiences, speaking on the following topics: Stress and the Family; Woman Abuse from a Global Perspective; The Impact of Childhood Abuse; Borderline Personality Disorder and Trauma; The Impact on Children who Witness Domestic Violence; Parenting Strategies; Crisis Intervention & Prevention; Suicide Prevention & Intervention .

My approach is collaborative and directed by what you want to achieve. I believe that each person has within themselves the ability to heal and change. As a therapist my role is to facilitate a process that will help you connect to your own wisdom and ultimately your own solutions.

My passion as a therapist is in helping people move from a place of confusion, fear, stress and overwhelm to a place of greater clarity and confidence. I enjoy helping people connect to themselves and others through their heart, increasing the capacity to love yourself as well as others.
